Our Story
Founded in 2015 by Michael Kim, The Korea Legacy Committee was born from a moment that left a lasting impression.
On a bitterly cold winter day at Jamsil subway station, Mike encountered an elderly grandmother quietly selling sticks of gum to passersbys—an image that captured both resilience and hardship. Deeply moved by her situation, he was compelled to act.
From that moment, The Korea Legacy Committee was established with a clear and compassionate mission: To ensure that no elderly person in Korea goes hungry, and that every senior has access to a warm, dignified meal.
What began as a response to elderly poverty has since grown into a broader National Movement.
Today, the organization not only addresses the urgent needs of Korea’s aging population but also serves as a platform for cultivating the next generation of leaders and social activists.
By empowering young people to engage with pressing social challenges, The Korea Legacy Committee strives to build a more inclusive, compassionate future for all—one where dignity, care, and opportunity are shared across generations.
